September the 23rd heralded the autumn equinox. And the preceding London Fashion week showcased all that’s new in the fashion world. And on the subject of Fashion and Fashion Week, the latest blog from Swindon-based organic skincare brand, Pink&Green is worth a peek.

As a personal shopper I’m ever alert to the latest trends. After all I need to know what’s hot and what’s not so my clients can decide what to incorporate into their capsule wardrobes – and what not to. So here’s my pick of the most wearable trends for 2019/2020 autumn/winter season.

Big Bags

Hooray!  What’s not to love about this trend? If I ever needed an excuse to have a big bag then being on trend is as good as any!  If you’re going for this trend then make sure the bag is big in proportion to you.  If you’re petite, don’t get something that will dwarf you and make you look like you’re carrying around a bin bag.  Proportion is key when choosing the right bag for you.

Dark Florals

This is my favourite trend right now and one I intend to embrace. Think winter florals – a little ethereal and a bit emo/goth.  Choose dark backgrounds and team with chunky boots.  If you love florals and frills then this is a great trend to embrace.  Go for floral dresses and team with a smart blazer and heels.  It’s easy to carry this look to the office as well as the bar.

Puffed Sleeves

This particular trend is especially great if you need to give the illusion of wider shoulders to add balance to your shape.  Pear shaped women look great in this sort of thing teamed with an A- line skirt.

But if, like me, nature gave you broad shoulders then this trend is one to avoid.

70s Revival

The 70s are back with a bang!  If you or your parents have some vintage pieces lurking in the attic, this is your moment.  Chunky boots in tan leather, floppy hats, and florals are all the rage! So, raid your closets and see what you’ve got before hitting the shops.

And, if you’re too young to know, get a feel for what the 1970s was all about by checking out this Harper’s Bazaar photo gallery. It’s a wonderful look back at the looks that both defined the decade and are inspiring your wardrobe this season.

Of course, if you struggle with knowing which trends suit you, how to wear them and whether you should even bother, I’m here to help!

On a personal shopping day with me you can discover:

  • How to make the latest trends work for you and then …
  •  … how to incorporate them into your existing wardrobe …

…  so that they become pieces you can wear for longer than one season.

And, dare I mention, that I am also selling gift vouchers for my personal shopping days?

I do hate to raise the subject quite so soon, but Christmas, juggernaut-like, will soon hit us. So, if enjoying a personal shopping day with me is something you’ve always wanted to do – treat yourself. Or – if you’re feeling very generous – treat someone else. DM me, comment below or call me on 07538946839 for more details. You can also email me at info@ishbelswardrobe.co.uk

Happy shopping!
